Privacy Policy

Short version: BASmate stores all your receipt and tax data on your iPhone only. We do not have servers, accounts, or access to your financial information. The only third-party involved is Google AdMob for ads in the free tier - and you control that via Apple's tracking prompt.
What we collect and where it lives
BASmate does not collect or transmit your personal data. All receipts, GST amounts, expense categories, and Business Activity Statement (BAS) estimates are stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData (local secure storage). Nothing is uploaded to any server.
We do not have user accounts. There is no registration, no sign-in, and no way for us to identify you as an individual.
Receipt images processed by the camera are analysed on-device using Apple's Vision framework and Apple Foundation Models. These images are not uploaded or shared.
Advertising and third-party data (free tier)
The free version of BASmate shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. When you first open BASmate, Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asks for your permission before any advertising identifier is used.
If you allow tracking: AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show personalised ads. This identifier is managed and stored by Google, not by us.
If you decline tracking: BASmate tells AdMob to serve non-personalised ads only (npa=1). No device identifier is passed to Google in this case.
You can change this setting at any time in iPhone Settings under Privacy and Security, then Tracking.

BASmate Pro removes all advertising. No AdMob SDK activity occurs once Pro is unlocked.
In-App Purchases
BASmate Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit 2. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple manages the transaction and issues us only a confirmation that the purchase was completed.
You can restore your purchase at any time using the "Restore Purchases" option in the app.
Data we do NOT collect
To be clear, BASmate does not collect any of the following:
Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address. Your payment card details. Your location. Your contacts. Your health or fitness data. Your browsing history. Your search history. Any analytics or usage events (no analytics SDK is integrated).
No iCloud sync
BASmate data is stored locally and does not sync via iCloud. If you delete the app or switch devices, your receipt history is not recoverable. We recommend using the BAS PDF export (Pro feature) to keep records before deleting the app.
Children
BASmate is designed for adults running a business as a sole trader, freelancer, or contractor. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the new version will be published at this URL and the "Last updated" date will change. For significant changes, we will include a notice in the next app update.
